Google has taken a major step to make digital payments easier. Google Pay and Axis Bank have jointly launched a new UPI-powered co-branded credit card, the Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card. This card is specifically designed for those who want the convenience of a credit card along with their everyday UPI payments, all in one place.

What is Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card?

The Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card is a digital credit card issued by Axis Bank and operates on the RuPay network. The card is fully integrated into the Google Pay app, eliminating the need for users to carry a separate physical card. Its goal is to provide a seamless and universal credit experience, similar to UPI.

Benefits of UPI and credit card together

This card works similarly to UPI payments, but offers the convenience of a credit card. Users can make payments directly on credit by scanning the UPI QR code at any store. Based on the RuPay network, it is accepted at millions of merchants, both online and offline.

Flex by Google Pay: Why this feature was introduced

According to Google, only about 50 million people in India currently use credit cards. Flex by Google Pay is designed to address this gap, allowing more people to access digital credit without complex processes. It is specifically designed with digital-first users in mind.

How to apply for Google Pay Flex

The application process for the Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card is completely digital. Users can apply for the card at zero cost through the Google Pay app. There’s no need for any physical documents or bank branch visits. Once approved, the card can be used within minutes.

You will get rewards by filling

The biggest highlight of this credit card is its rewards system. Every Flex transaction earns users “Stars,” with one star being worth one rupee. These reward points can be redeemed immediately on any next Flex transaction, without waiting until the end of the month.

Flexible repayment option

Users can track their spending and billing within the Google Pay app. There’s also the option to pay the entire card bill at once, and users can also convert their credit card bill into EMIs. This feature helps them manage their spending better.

Full control within the app

Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card also offers users in-app control. Users can block or unblock the card, reset the PIN, and set transaction limits all from within the app, making card use more secure and convenient.

When and who will get this card

Flex by Google Pay has already launched and is currently being rolled out to select users. Google says it will make this digital credit card available to more Indian users in the coming months.
