Fastag Annual Pass User and Benefits: On the occasion of Diwali, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has made a special appeal to people, asking them to gift a Fastag Annual Pass to their loved ones. Yes, we are talking about the Fastag Annual Pass, which the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched on August 15, 2025, for public convenience. This annual pass costs ₹3,000 and is valid for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings. The craze for this pass is so great that it has garnered 2.5 million users in two months, and transactions worth crores of rupees have been processed through this pass. Payment for this annual pass can be made using UPI, debit or credit card, or netbanking.

Here’s how to gift an annual Fastag pass.

The government has urged people to consider this pass as a great gift for travellers during festival seasons like Diwali and Chhath. This pass allows seamless travel at toll plazas without frequent recharges and is valid at around 1150 toll plazas across India. NHAI’s HighwayYatra app now allows users to gift the FASTag annual pass. This pass can be purchased through the app. To purchase the pass, you need to click on the ‘Add Pass’ option. After this, you need to provide the vehicle number and contact details of the person to whom you want to gift the pass. After OTP verification, this annual pass will be activated on the FASTag linked to that vehicle.

Activated within two hours on Fastag

Let us tell you that the FASTag Annual Pass is for all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag. Once the payment is made on the Highway Yatra app, this pass gets activated on the FASTag linked to the vehicle within two hours. Once you complete the limit of 200 toll plaza crossings, your FASTag automatically switches to standard pay-per-trip mode. This means you will have to pay toll again every time. It should also be noted that at point-based toll plazas, a one-way journey is considered one trip and a return journey two trips. Whereas, at toll plazas with closed or ticket systems, the entire journey from entry to exit is counted as one trip.
